Tasmanian Native Plants & Wildflowers

Allocasuarina littoralis

Bull Oak

Description

This evergreen small to medium tree has highly decorative fine leafed foliage. The casuarinas are sought after as they are long lived and have much to offer landscape designers. Their fine leaves allow light in during the colder months and will also reduce the harsh hot summer sun. They are particularly attractive planted in clusters. The dark durable timber makes excellent firewood and the bark can be used for tanning
